Land Clearing Projects We Handle
Tree Wizard handles clearing projects of all scales — from a single overgrown lot to multi-acre pasture reclamation. We bring the right equipment for the job and discuss scope, debris handling, and stump disposition at the estimate so the price matches what you actually need.
New Construction Lot Clearing
We clear trees, remove brush, and grind stumps to below grade so your builder can break ground. We can coordinate directly with your contractor on timing and site access requirements.
Fence-Line & Property Border Clearing
Trees and brush encroaching on fence lines, property boundaries, and right-of-way strips are a routine part of our work. We remove overgrowth, handle debris, and grind stumps flush so new fencing goes in clean.
Pasture Reclamation
Overgrown pastures with volunteer trees and brush are a common situation in Central Missouri. We clear the trees, grind stumps, and can work with your fencing contractor to get pasture land back into production.
Property Cleanup & Storm Debris
Large-scale cleanup after storm damage, tree failure, or years of deferred maintenance falls within our scope. We scale equipment and crew to the project size.
From Trees to Ready Ground
A full land clearing project with Tree Wizard includes:
- Felling and removing all standing trees within the clearing zone
- Brush removal and undergrowth clearing
- Stump grinding to below grade (or flush cut, depending on end use)
- Debris hauled away or chipped and distributed per your preference
- Site walkthrough at estimate to confirm scope and plan access
We're flexible on wood and debris disposition. Some customers want logs left in rounds for firewood; others want everything off the property. We discuss it upfront and price accordingly.
We Work Beyond the City Limits
A large share of our land clearing work is on rural properties in Boone and Callaway counties — farms, acreage parcels, and properties along the county road corridors. Rural clearing often involves larger trees, more acreage, and different debris considerations than residential lot work.
We handle rural clearing including windbreak removal, fence-line clearing along pasture edges, and multi-tree projects on larger acreage. Crane capability is available for large trees near outbuildings. We assess access and ground conditions at the estimate so equipment decisions are made before crews arrive.
Stumps Don't Have to Stay
Stump grinding is almost always part of a clearing project, but the depth required depends on end use. For new construction, we grind to 6–12 inches below grade so the site is ready. For fence-line clearing, flush grinding is usually enough. For pasture reclamation, we discuss what the ground equipment can handle afterward.
If you already have stumps left from previous work, we handle standalone stump grinding too. See our stump grinding page for more.

Frequently Asked Questions
- A full clearing project covers felling standing trees, removing brush and undergrowth, grinding stumps, and hauling debris. Scope varies by project — some customers want trees cut and wood left in rounds; others need the site completely clear for construction. We discuss what's included upfront so the estimate reflects what you actually need.
- Cost depends on lot size, tree density, species, terrain, and what you want done with the material. We provide free on-site estimates for clearing projects — contact us and we'll come take a look before quoting.
- Yes. Residential lot clearing for new construction is a regular part of our work. We remove trees, clear brush, grind stumps below grade, and leave the site ready for your builder. We can coordinate with your contractor on timing and access if needed.
- Yes. Fence-line clearing, overgrown property borders, and tree rows along pasture edges are jobs we take on regularly. We remove the trees, handle brush, and can grind stumps flush if you're putting in new fence. We serve both residential and rural farm properties throughout Boone and Callaway counties.
- Options are discussed at the estimate. We can haul everything away, chip brush and blow it into a designated area, or leave logs in rounds if you want firewood. We don't charge for what we haul — that's included — but we want to make sure the price reflects the actual scope of work.
- Yes. Stump grinding is typically part of a full clearing project and is included in the estimate. For new construction we grind to below grade; for fence-line work, flush grinding is usually enough. If you'd prefer to leave stumps or have them pulled rather than ground, we discuss that at the estimate.
